Upcoming trip: Havana’s Jazz Plaza Festival, January 2018!

Coming up next January, visit Cuba for the annual Jazz Plaza festival! That’s Havana’s biggest jazz event of the year. Last year’s festival was hosted by Chucho Valdés and featured such luminaries as Omara Portuondo, Christian McBride, and Terence Blanchard. (video below!)

The trip runs from January 14th to the 22nd, 2018. Our program will emphasize jazz and other genres of Cuban music through encounters with Cuban musicians. But we’ll also spend some time on the island’s fascinating history, culture, and modern society. Like every Detours With Matt trip, this one operates at a slower pace, allowing the group to explore Cuba at a deeper level than a whistle-stop tour. We’ll do some walking around, keep our eyes open, and maybe take a couple of our signature spur-of-the-moment detours along the way!

A $1,000 deposit secures your spot. To sign up, just click the purple button! We’ll follow up with you to answer any questions and discuss payment options.
